When Flaree gets in touch
Flaree sends a small, fixed set of recurring messages about recognition: badges you earned, how the team is doing, and a nudge to recognize someone. This page lists every one of them, when it arrives, and who gets it.

All times are in your company's timezone, set by an admin in company settings. If your team is spread across timezones, everyone gets these at the same moment, which may be a different local hour for each person.
Slack or email: how Flaree chooses
You will not get the same message twice on two channels. The rule is simple:
If your company has Slack connected, messages go to Slack.
If it does not, everything goes to email instead. Nothing is lost.
If Slack is connected but Flaree cannot find you there, usually because your Slack account uses a different email address than your Flaree account, you personally fall back to email while your colleagues stay on Slack.
Two kinds of Slack message are involved:
Direct message — anything personal to you: badges you earned, the Friday nudge, the owner report.
Team channel post — anything about the team as a whole: the Wednesday recap, the month-close recap, birthday and anniversary announcements. These go to the default channel your admin set up.
Getting emails when you expected Slack? Your Slack account is probably not linked. Fix it under Settings → Integration → Slack, using the same email as your Flaree account.
Monday 09:00 — badges you earned last week
Every Monday morning Flaree works out who earned a badge during the week that just ended and tells them.
Who: only people who actually earned something. If you did not qualify, you get nothing. Silence on Monday is not an error.
What: the badge you earned, why you earned it, and a link straight to your badges in the dashboard.
Where: Slack direct message, with email as the fallback.
Nothing is posted to the team channel on Monday. Badges are announced to the team in the Wednesday and month-close recaps instead.
Full rules for each badge: Badges
Wednesday 09:00 — the team recap
A mid-week snapshot of where the team stands, sent to everyone.
Top 3 by points for the current month so far
How many people earned each badge this month
If nobody has earned anything yet, a short reminder of what each badge takes
Where: the company's default Slack channel. Without Slack, the same recap is emailed to every member of the company.
When the month-close recap falls on the same Wednesday, the weekly recap is skipped so the team does not get two summaries in one morning.
Friday 14:30 — the recognition nudge
A short prompt to recognize someone before the week ends, sent to everyone who is able to send Flarees. People who can only receive them are not messaged.
The wording adapts to your own activity:
Your situation | What you get |
|---|---|
You have never sent a Flaree | An introduction to how sending works and why it is worth it |
Nothing sent in about a week or more | A prompt to get back to it |
You have been sending recently | A short acknowledgement and a nudge to keep going |
Where: Slack direct message, or email if your company has no Slack. One message per person per week, never both channels.
Friday 18:30 — the weekly report for owners and admins
Sent after the Friday nudge has had the afternoon to move the numbers it describes.
Who: the company owner and anyone with admin rights. Editors and regular members do not receive it.
What: Flarees sent this week against last week, how many people are actively giving, total members, and the top 3 givers and receivers.
Where: Slack direct message, or email.
The report adapts to the state of the company: a full report when there was activity, a quieter version when the week was slow, and a getting-started version when you are still the only person in the company. Birthday and anniversary Flarees are excluded from these figures, so the numbers reflect real peer recognition rather than automated cards.
First working day of the month, 09:00 — the month close
The biggest moment in the Flaree calendar. Two things happen together:
Monthly badges are awarded for the month that just ended, and everyone who earned one gets a personal message.
A month-close recap goes to the whole team, with last month's top 3 by points and the badge tally.
If the 1st falls on a weekend, this runs on the first working day after it instead. When it lands on a Monday, the weekly and monthly badges are handled in the same run and the team sees a single combined recap rather than two.
Birthdays and work anniversaries
If your admin has turned these on, Flaree celebrates automatically:
Employee birthdays — on the day, for whoever is celebrating
Work anniversaries — on the anniversary of a person's start date
Company birthday — for everyone at once
The person celebrating receives a Flaree card and points automatically, plus an email. Alongside that, an announcement is posted to the team Slack channel so colleagues can join in.
These are off by default and each type is switched on separately by an admin, who also picks the time of day it fires. If your company has no Slack, the personal email still arrives but there is no team announcement.
What Flaree will not send you
Recognition messaging is deliberately light. There is no daily digest, no per-transfer summary email, and no reminder chain that escalates when you ignore it. If you never send a Flaree, the most you will hear on this front is one Friday nudge a week.
Common questions
I get nothing on Monday but colleagues do.
Monday messages only go to people who earned a badge. Check the badge rules to see what you were short of.
Everything arrives by email even though we use Slack.
Your Slack account is not linked to Flaree, most often because the two accounts use different email addresses. Connect it under Settings → Integration → Slack.
The team recap is not appearing in Slack.
Recaps go to the company's default channel. If none is configured, Flaree emails every member instead. An admin can set the default channel in the integration settings.
The times do not match my day.
All schedules use the company timezone, not yours. Check it with an admin in company settings.
Can I turn these off?
The recognition schedule is company-wide and not switchable per person. Birthday and anniversary celebrations are the exception: an admin controls each type separately.
Two summaries in one week?
Wednesday's recap covers the current month so far. The month-close recap covers the month that just ended. When both fall on the same day, only one is sent.
